- O starts to speak German. With everyone.
- S insists I speak German to her.
- The Husband continues to be super-supportive of raising the kids to be bilingual.
- The kids love our semi-regular outings with German friends who also have little kids and frequently speak German with said kids, even without constant reminders from us grown-ups. They ask for more playdates with their German friends.
- After a lot of fretting on my part, S and O occasionally speak German to each other when O starts using German with everyone.
- The kids are happily and comfortably bicultural.
- Both ask to go to Germany frequently and regularly.
- People start telling me that childhood bilingualism has worked out for them.
- When Oma comes to visit, both Punks effortlessly switch into German.
- S starts learning French and we have the first - and (so far) only - trilingual conversation over dinner.
Thanks for coming along this bilingual, bicultural ride with us!
Hope you'll be back in the new year :)
